To start editing the Message Content, toggle along to the third chevron at the top of the Email Editor - “message content”.
If your email has been set up from scratch, you will be given the option of selecting either the HTML Editor or the Drag & Drop Editor. Select "HTML Editor".
For more information about the Drag & Drop Editor, please contact your Account Manager.
When copying an existing template, you will be taken directly into the HTML Editor.
The message body section will open up in the last view that you had it open in when previously setting up an email. You can toggle between the HTML view, and Plain Text view by clicking on the appropriate label.
Identifying which view you have open
The above indicates that you have the HTML view open. “HTML” will be written in brackets beside “Message body”.
When in HTML view, you can toggle between viewing the HTML code and the Visual Editor by clicking the “toggle visual editor” button.
The below indicates that you have the Plain Text view open. More information on the plain text can be found here.
Editing Message Content
When in the Visual Builder, you can start editing your content. Content can be edited by typing directly into the builder.
Emails are built as a table, in a series of rows and columns. These rows and columns are defined by the dotted lines that you will see in the visual builder. Any row which is not needed can be deleted by:
- Right clicking on the relevant row (or highlighted rows, if looking to remove more than one row).
- Select “Delete Row”.
- Similarly, rows can be inserted by clicking either “Insert Row Before” or “Insert Row After”.
